What's a boss lady?

You are! …well assuming you are if you have stumbled upon this page. The Boss Ladies is a community of kick ass boss ladies that love to collaborate and help each other grow their business. What started as a simple instagram account back in 2015 has grown to a community of over 5,000 members spread across the Fraser Valley and NOW a global platform providing a supportive community, online courses, printables, webinars and more.

If you are looking for your next business bestie, accountability partner, friend, or something in-between, joining us is the right step in getting there….

Okay, but who is Megan?

Well, that’s a valid question. If you are already apart of our Facebook Community, I am the one that you get notifications from when I post in the group a million times a day #SorryNotSorry. I started the Fraser Valley Boss Ladies in 2015 because I hate parallel parking, so I didn’t want to go Downtown to meet women in business (as at the time that’s where all the women focused networking events were). You might think I’m joking, but that is literally the reason this community began.

I’ve always been an entrepreneur at heart; whether it was running Dairy Queens, making websites fo random things on Tripod (is that platform still around?) or running retirement homes, I’ve always needed to be in a position of authority.

Maybe it wasn’t me needing to be an entrepreneur but more so, I don’t do well with others telling me what to do?

Anyways, I worked with Dairy Queen for 16 years (and counting) and worked on the corporate side in the Retirement Home industry for 4 years, I can tell you those two positions moulded me to what I am today. If you’ve been in a Dairy Queen on Miracle Treat Day, you know that I can hustle like no other.

My DQs are probably the only ones that had official employee manuals outline every policy and procedure that were 40 pages long and precise employee contracts, even though I know those 14 year olds never read them, even if they said they did…

The business side of business has always excited me, weird, right? Contracts, policies and procedures, business plans, marketing plans – pretty much all the shit that people hate in business, I love it.

I run a successful six figure retail store (and that is after expenses, I’m not going to be one of those Facebook Ads that tries to trick you with numbers), I do consulting with small business owners (like you!), I offer marketing services (which really, was my original business), I run the Boss Ladies (because yes, this is a business) and I’m always looking for that next project or opportunity that can continue to diverse my entrepreneurial portfolio – is that a thing?

So, anything else you want to know? I am a completely open book, trust me, follow me on Instagram and you’ll probably learn too much because apparently I’m an over-sharer, but I like to call it open and honest (see, that was marketing, I just changed the narrative there).
